On September 3, 2013, Ukraine adopted the Law "On Production and Circulation of Organic Agricultural Products and Raw Materials," which came into effect on January 10, 2014. According to this law, the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), preservatives, and similar substances is prohibited in the process of organic production. It also establishes the obligation to conserve and restore natural resources within the framework of organic farming.
